Lifesavers/Love haterzz

Its like loosing your mind but gaining some teeth.

Yer so we were back where we belong Friday nite.
Me and Our Lass enjoyed a tipple and sessioned some Cds for the birds at Bungalows and Bears. Overall it was a pretty good nite, despite the fact that I started it with a massive tantrum (kicking sharp objects in bare feet does hurt no matter how annoyed you are) over a beehive (the type you wear on your head, not the endangered countryside variety).

There weren’t much to report back, unless you count the fact that someone (finally, finally) requested Pat Benatar. Yep that’s rite. For the first time in ASBO history. Someone approached the decks and actually said the words:
Love.is.a.Battlefield.
Its an understatement to say he was put about by our reaction. He didn’t seem that hot on our tattoos, or our high pitched screams, or the shower of rose wine that got dashed everywhere when I busted out some high kicks to celebrate... I think he just wanted to hear his song, manz.
Cheers to the lasses who attempted to turn it off…because they wanted to 'hear summert good’. If there’s one thing you don’t wanna do- its try and press stop on Pat Benatar at an ASBO nite. Its kinda like trying to take a Special Brew outta Our Lass’ grubby mitts. No matter how much you wanna do it, don’t bother.

Despite the wine-hangover and four hours of bridal-wear browsing that I experienced on Saturday morning, I still managed to make it down to Pride in the Park for a bit. The weather was beaut, making up for the dingy atmosphere that hung over Peace int Teeth the other weekend. Hanging out in the Dance Tent of an afternoon was a bit hot and sweaty, but after a few glasses of Somerfield Value Dry Cider (£1.57 for 2 litres mate) the day-glo tutus and Mexican wave dancing went down a bit easier. Especially when Kelly Rowland got busted out (Ive got a lotta time for Ugly Beyonce).
One useful thing I did learn at Pride was, queuing for a stinking porta potty is a better option than risking a bush. And that apparently even when offered it, all women don’t wanna use loo roll. They like their lettuce shaken not wiped. I left before Scooch (Scootch? Tooth?) hit the stage, but I’m not worried, Im sure they’ll be doing a turn at Queens Road working manz club sometime in the twelfth of never.
In a bit.

Twits with Tats

We are the girls that shout out the wrong name in the street.

Life in the ASBO tent goes like this:
As far as the tattoos go. Basically mine’s healed up faster, proving that I have the good genes, while Punk-a-rama has the bad blood (we’d always suspected it, since that guy stopped her in the Washington beer garden and begged her to not to do heroin).
We hung out with the Rah Rah girls loads last weekend, cus we buzz off them tonnes. If you haven’t had the common sense to look them up yet, well, they’re pretty much everywhere. Session them on the Alternative Hour on Sheffield Live 93.2FM every Thursday from 6 till 7pm. Be prepared for hot debates concerning global issues…or just a shed load of slammin’ tunes and a bit of back chat from Lola (stop, drop, roll).

They’re also Sheffield’s premium promoters bringing you the finest of alternative gay nites. They will play your guilty pleasures, they will play that.song.that.you.love.but.you.don’t.know.who.sings.it.yet tunes to get your ass shaking. Check them out on Face Book (search for Rah Rah Rah).
So they invited us to join them in raising cash, and awareness, for this year’s South Yorkshire Pride at their event at the Sanctuary Bar on Friday. Of course we wanted to get on board, cus it involved wearing wigs…I mean helping a good cause. Anyway we fannied around a bit, played some Rah Digga and then swanned off to Corp. Where Josephine practiced glass collecting with high heels (not in them. With them. She got skillz).

On Saturday I was all over the Help the Aged tent at Peace in the Park. The Rah girls were out there dropping beats while surrounded by vegan cream-teas. It was pretty surreal, especially with a hangover. Anyway, after 9 cans of Relentless it all seemed to make a bit more sense. But after 9 cans of energy, anything seems to make sense, like going to DQ in a kagool. Like going to DQ in a kagool and a leotard. Like going to DQ in a kagool and a leotard and then trying to split up a fight. By vaulting over the stage barrier. Bring back the cocktails and party dresses. You don’t get ideas above your station if you’re dressed nice.

I nearly died when I saw this on YouTube.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O27e8IWMiuk
Its not fresh news, but I proper love Little Boots and Kid Cudi is amazo. My favourite bit is when she has to admit that she cant remember any of the words to Day and Nite. it’s the same facial expression that I bust out when someone asks me what a Prime Number is….errrrmm…

And that’s about it. For a bit.

We are ASBO a GoGo

What came first, the tatts or the blog?

If you know us well, you’ll know that we’re not ones to cause a fuss (??…), but having just got inked for life with buddy tattoos…I thought I’d mark the event and get on it….actually make the blogsite that I’ve been promising to write since My Space went out of fashion (www.myspace.com/asboagogogirls) .
Rite so if you don’t really know who we are or what we do…then why the hell not?

We are ASBO a GoGo.
We like music. We like parties.
We are disk jockettes that play a mix tape riot of Rock & Roll, R&B, Punk as fuck, Reggae, Ragga, Dirty Indie, Council Pop, Power Ballads, Hip Hop, & Metaaaaaaaaaaal. Plus pretty much owt else you can think of.We love dancing/we love you dancing. You might have seen/heard us at The Washington, Bungalows & Bears, The Cremorne, Razor Stiletto, The Old House, Viva Climax, Lock Tavern, Rah Rah Rah!, The Pomona, The Harley, or a Working Men’s Club near you.We do themed nights & free for alls.We use C.D's, Records, Ipod's and broken ghetto blasters. We are available to play Bars, Pubs, and Clubs...Births, Deaths, and marriages.Don't be shy, get in touch.

As we’ve been mates for about 10 years we decided that buddy tattoos were a safe bet. Having both had a shit load of slammin tattoos…
Personally I’m just not into those deep and meaningful Miami Ink ‘my daughter beat cancer/dog died in a car crash’ style tats. I like pretzels I wanna get ‘em drawn on me for life. Plus- I don’t know anyone else who has been tattooed while drinking a Stella in a mate’s kitchen on a kit that had been bought off eBay. If you do…tell ’em to hit me up. So we can both laugh and point at each other.

Our lass designed our kickin’ new tats, cus she’s a bitchin’ artist (newly graduated aswell!) have a look at her stuff on www.myspace.com/jellyartwork . The whole design is a blatant reference to She who breaks hearts. The most over-looked 80s legend that is Pat Benatar.
If there’s one thing you should know about us, its our love for the hidden gem of the 80s that is The Benatar.

Heartbreakerhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZcSBurP8yLs
has featured in pretty much every set we have ever played since the dawn of ASBO (which, if I remember correctly was advertised as a wedding party for Britney and K-Fed. Cus everyone loves million dollar shot gun wedding in velour tracksuits). Shout out to Maz at Q Tattoo who did a kickin’ job on the pair of us. They look amazing. Plus getting tattooed by a woman was pretty fit.

So that’s pretty much it for the first blog. Ok, so I am no Perez Hilton (I haven’t got any Firecrotch snaps and America doesn’t give rats ass about my opinion on Miss USA) but the ASBO lasses do get up to some fun stuff now and again…so this mite be worth a bookmark. And a comment every now and again…?….

Less Twitting more teething.
