Is it me...or are you too loud?
The sun's shining, the tea's brewing and the pink plastic fireman's hat is making your head sweaty. It had to be an afternoon at Sheffield's Pride in the Park.
The Lost Girls Tea Tent was totally buzzing x55. Them guys know who to throw a party and a half.
On behalf of one half of ASBO- Id like to say a big massive ta to the organisers, to The Harley for letting me spin some steeze and all my fit gal pals who came along for the ride-so many tasty lady DJs, so little time.
It was wild. Role on Manchester!!

RIP Ur DJ set
Me and Our Chaz did ourselves proud lastnite.
We experienced:
Ukulele- beat boxing (you gotta see it to feel it).
Too many feet without shoes.
A lot of titty talk.
Waiting AGES to drop Niki Minaj.
Drinking the wrong wine.
The wiiiiiiidest Def Leopard tshirt ever created.
And basically dropping the best set, this side of South Yorkshire.
Forget Glastonbury, its all about the RIP U crew.
Wanna join?

Dinner for one
Who needs New York?
Going it alone in this city is tough when youre other half is sunning herself in the dizzy heights of NYC. If you know ASBO even slightly, you'll know that neither of us sneezes without the other gettin some info on it...by 'sneezes' of course I mean 'blow your nose into your hand and throw it into the sink' (yeh-thanks for that Jo)...So 10 days apart will be painful for at least one half of this duo.
Luckly I have a freight of gal pals to fill in our lass' (grotty) shoes for the next couple of DJ sets. The delightful Gnarlotte will be joining me at the Lescar (Sharrow Vale Rd) for a good old knees up (sit down and drink wine) for their Glasto weekender special starting tonite (fri)!! Im just wondering if they'll cover the ground in hay (their standard gig floor covering apparently...), start serving bean burgers and be pumping in the smell of gone off bobar- you know, just to give the event some authenticity. Who knows... I mite even wear wellies.
This weekend is getting kicked off to a great start...Im going all out on Saturday to celebrate Sheffield's very own Gay Pride event. Its gunna be slammin. I hope all members of Scootch can get the day off their Scream Pub bar jobs this time- I was lookin' forward to seeing those guys-main stage style- last year.
But seriously, its bound to be fun, the weather is forcast to be slammin, me and my number one bitch Amy Dutronc will be dropping classics (shes got East 17's back catalogue on 7 inch ya'llz) all afternoon long (3-5pm). Expect laid back steeze (acoustic Kiss then?) and plenty of warm cider staw-pedo style from placcy bottles.
Im joining the Harley posse from 10 til 3 am in their Lost Girls vs. Lost Boys shin dig. Its for charidee guys- get yourselves out- getting pissed guilt free. Have another gin-you're helping out the needy innit?
Despite my positivty for playing I have had it rough this week- who drops their last quid in a pile of someone else's street gobbins? To then have to pick...it...out...wipe it down and use it on the bus? Yeh that would be me...sigh.
Despite all this buisness, Im doing OK now- that fittie from Gym Class Heros has just brought out a new song so hes on music telly 24/7...lets adopt a bunch of babies...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8aRor905cCw

Das Chip Shop
Me and my Baby Mama were lucky enough to catch the Das Chip Shop posse when they played SOYO bar this week, and they were bloody-ruddy brilliant.
Loud enough to make my teeth rattle and the screwed up bits of tissue in my ears (Ive got weak ears and no earplugs you guys!) pop out... it was like stepping back into the 1990s...you know-when gigs were allowed to be so loud that in later life you permenantly need an ear horn to beable to hear anyone say anything.
We all know this blog is an overblown twitter account for me to detail all the mishaps of Our Lass' day to day life, so I am not gonna pretend that I can critique a gig with any real creditbility but these guys were slammin!
I can only compare it to: spending an evening watching Faith No More, if Faith No More were from Sheff, and they were fronted by Doc from Back to the Future. You've gotta love a band who's own drummer cant stop giggling cus he's buzzing off his own band so much. Their enthusiasm and bitching tunes are infectious and before you know it you've downed 3 Deperados and you're trying to incite a mosh pit in SOYO. Frickin slammin' gig.
PS. There's nowt I like better than watchin a band through the back of your head.

I really like your ring.
Me and Our Lass like to session a good week off every now and again (2 months to be exact) and this one has been particularly good.
We have played out a LOT.
We had a BBQ and didnt get food poisening (but we did have to endure some fool eating an entire jar of mayo in one sitting...now Im a mayo fan but theres only so much egg a body can take, even 15 bar wouldnt get me chowing down on that shit...)
We went for midnight walks, got freaked out by deserted buildings and MADE UP ghosts.
Made our zombie-escape-route-plans...if someone goes on about it for long enough you can start to believe they're really after you.
We sessioned charity shops for slinky dresses, Neneh Cherry records and limited edition Malibu flip flops (the best footwear combined with the best beverage...winner!!).
Planned trips, pulled muscles (handstands arent what they used to be you know...) and procrastinated over fotoshoots.
We refused to work in the rain...and then got terrible tan lines.
We got into water fights, got followed by smack heads and got cardigans chewed by puppies.
We had clear outs...throwing out your goth wardrobe hurts no matter how old you are. My life without Rock Boots is practically meaningless, at least I pocketed that Mechanical Animals cassette tape (remember when Our Price used to sell albums on tape...dreamy).
No one would leave our tattoos alone...'heyyyy, you have great ASS-pects' and no amount of cider would get me drunk.
Forget NYC Im moving to Woodhouse.
